Short Term Care insurance (STCi) also known as “Recovery Care” was designed to provide benefits for care in your home and or in a facility. STCi will cover for just a few days of care a week or up to 360 days of care. There are many different reasons why individuals purchase these types of polices. What we find most often is affordability or health reasons. With Short Term Care insurance the underwriting requirements are more streamlined than with Long-Term Care insurance and most carriers do not require obtaining medical records for and underwriting decision.
